glasses sweating and
leaving a ring of water
for me to wipe away

$2.50 tip
tired feet
worn legs
shut down mind

And the generosity
of patrons
won't pay my bills

And I just can't
seem to get ahead
or over
and lately I've been
playing the fool
and sleeping on the couch
